Kundan Jhumka Earrings
(1)Rs 2,400

No. 05Necklaces · Hand-set stones
Each stone set by hand, on a bed of gold foil.
Kundan is one of the oldest ways of setting stones in the subcontinent. Each stone sits on a thin sheet of gold foil, which lights it from behind, and is pressed into place by hand.
This choker is gold-plated brass, with pearl and green bead drops and a silk dori that ties to fit. Wear it high on the neck, with an open neckline.

The design is cut and shaped in brass, then plated in gold.
Thin gold foil goes into each setting, to light the stone from behind.
Every stone is pressed into place by hand.
Pearls and green beads are wired on, one at a time.

Wore it on my barat. The stones catch the light beautifully and it sat comfortably all evening.

Looks far more expensive than it was. The box is lovely too.

Gorgeous choker. The dori is a bit short, I added an extension.
